BCEMS Privacy, Terms & Policies

This page explains the terms of use, privacy practices, data handling, security practices, and cookie usage for the Bryan County EMS (BCEMS) website and its associated applications.
Terms of Use
Acceptance
By accessing or using the BCEMS website or any associated BCEMS application, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, you should not use the system.
Authorized Use
Access to BCEMS systems is restricted to authorized users. Unauthorized access, attempting to bypass security measures, accessing information you are not permitted to see, or misuse of any part of the system is strictly prohibited.
System Availability
BCEMS does not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or continuous availability. Services, content, and features may be changed, suspended, or removed at any time without notice.
Security
Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their credentials. Passwords and account access must not be shared. BCEMS uses reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect information; however, no online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BCEMS and its officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the website or its applications, including loss of data, errors, omissions, unauthorized access, or decisions made based on information provided by the system.
Use of BCEMS systems is at the user's own risk. BCEMS disclaims warranties to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma. Any applicable legal proceedings shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Oklahoma courts.
Privacy Policy
Information We Collect
BCEMS collects information necessary to provide and administer its services. Depending on the application being used, this may include:
- Name and contact information
- Address and general demographic information
- Membership information and membership ID
- Application information and submitted responses
- Scheduling and ride-along information
- Account and authentication information
Information collected varies depending on the BCEMS application being used. BCEMS does not collect financial or payment information through the Membership or Application systems described below.
How Information Is Used
Information is used only for legitimate BCEMS operational purposes, including:
- Processing and maintaining membership records
- Reviewing and processing applications
- Managing scheduling and ride-along requests
- Communicating with users and applicants
- Maintaining accurate administrative records
- System security, logging, auditing, and abuse prevention
- Sending necessary system or membership notifications
BCEMS does not sell personal information and does not use collected information for advertising or marketing purposes.
Data Storage & Security
BCEMS information is stored on systems controlled by or operated on behalf of BCEMS. Reasonable technical and administrative safeguards are used to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or misuse.
No online system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
Data Sharing
Information may be shared only when necessary to operate BCEMS services, such as with hosting or infrastructure providers, or when disclosure is required by law or legal process.
Data Retention
Information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for BCEMS operational, administrative, legal, or regulatory purposes. Specific retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the application involved.
Children
BCEMS applications are not intended for children under 18. BCEMS does not knowingly collect information directly from children without appropriate parental or guardian involvement where required.
Application-Specific Information
BCEMS Membership Application
The Membership Application is used to apply for and manage Bryan County EMS membership.
Membership information may include contact information, address, membership status, membership ID, and information submitted through the membership form.
Membership information is used to process applications, maintain membership records, respond to correction requests, and send necessary membership notifications.
BCEMS Scheduling
BCEMS Scheduling is used to manage ride-along scheduling. The application may use Google OAuth 2.0 to authenticate users and create Google Calendar events when scheduling is confirmed.
The Scheduling application may request the following Google permissions:
- openid — Verify your Google identity.
- email — Identify your account.
- profile — Display your name.
- calendar.events — Create Google Calendar events for scheduled ride-along requests.
BCEMS does not access unrelated Google account information. Google access may be revoked through your Google Account settings.
BCEMS Application System
The BCEMS Application System is used to collect and manage employment or other organizational application information.
Information may include contact information, address, general demographic information, application responses, and other information voluntarily submitted by the applicant.
Application information is used to review applications, communicate with applicants, maintain records, and support BCEMS administrative operations.
Application information is generally retained for up to six months after the application process is completed or the position is filled, unless a longer retention period is required for administrative, operational, or legal purposes.
Cookies
BCEMS websites and applications may use cookies and similar technologies to provide secure sessions, authentication, application functionality, performance, logging, and security.
- Maintaining secure user sessions

- Preventing fraud and unauthorized access
- Remembering temporary application state
- Security and administrative logging
BCEMS does not use cookies for advertising, marketing, or cross-site tracking and does not use cookies to build advertising profiles.

Your Rights & Data Requests
Depending on the application and applicable law, users may request correction or deletion of their information or ask questions about how their information is handled.
Scheduling users may also revoke Google authorization through their Google Account settings.
